How does FaceStim work ?
FaceStim uses a technology called RF DiatermoContraction® to reach deeper dermal layers and muscles. It combines bipolar radiofrequency and muscle contractions which enables us to lift and rejuvenate the facial features, aiming to restore natural beauty.
The radiofrequency energy generates heat within the tissue and as a result, fibroblasts respond by producing new collagen, leading to tissue remodelling and a reduction in lax connective tissue.

MUSCLES RESTORATION
RF FACESTIM® is based on the simultaneous combination of RF diathermy associated with muscle contractions (Diatermo Contraction®).
The RF Diathermic Pulse stimulates the growth of collagen and elastin fibers while preserving the outstanding comfort during the treatment session.
The muscular contractions generated by the RF Diathermic Pulse can be combined with the thermic action produced by the RF Diathermy to promote skin tightening, firming and toning. bQUAD® applicator has a patented reticular geometry for optimized and homogenous heat diffusion. Facial sculpting with FACESTIM®
Jovena® by Brera Medical offers Facestim®, a treatment of combined bipolar radiofrequency and muscle contractions. This combination allows us to obtain lifted features and skin rejuvenation. The goal is to restore and enhance natural features to restablish the harmony of the facial volumes and to improve the skin texture and appearance.
The Science
Firstly, Diatermocontraction is a novel method patented by Brera Medical. It uses a modulation of a single frequency source which overcomes the limits of available techniques on the market (EMS, MS…) because the contraction reaches the deep layers of the muscles and produces a total fibre recruitment, without causing any side effects.
The high frequency source produces a muscular contraction and synchronised thermal effect on the skin, if desired. Secondly, radiofrequency has been used to tighten the skin for more than 20 years with good results. Radiofrequency energy generates heat in the tissue which produces collagen denaturation. Heated fibroblasts produce new collagen formation and subsequent tissue re-modelling, with shrinking of the lax connective tissue.
The results
Consequently, the main benefits of this new technology are the rejuvenation of muscles (strengthening, toning and shaping), the prevention of their atrophy and also skin rejuvenation (firmer skin, less visible wrinkles). A more triangular shape, lifted features, enhanced mandibular contour, reduction of the nasolabial folds and marionette lines, lifted and volumised cheeks can also be achieved with this device. In addition, Jovena® allows us to target specific muscle groups in order to correct certain asymmetries of the face.

How many sessions will I need?
The applicator has a patented reticular geometry for optimised and homogenous heat diffusion. Usually 4 sessions are needed in order to achieve the desired results with a 75 minute treatment.
The treatment is well tolerated, safe and effective, with immediate results and
no downtime. The effects are visible from the first session and can last up to 6-8 months.
Finally, thanks to this procedure, we can reduce the amount of filler injected for volumisation and face contouring and obtain a more natural result. Combined with other devices like Dermapen 4 Microneedling, Jovena® allows us to enhance the final results.

We suggest giving yourself 3 days before returning to work if possible as there will be scabbing on the eyelid or area where you have had Jovena and swelling for the first few days. After 3 days you may still have scabs, but they can be hidden with makeup at that point.
